The 3Ps Project explored how digital tools and artificial intelligence can enhance both animal welfare and supply chain integrity across the pork sector. Durable and Scalable Technology: The Xiot Grower Health Tag proved to be a reliable and effective tool for real-time monitoring of pig health and welfare across commercial settings.
Advanced Data Pipeline: A robust analytics infrastructure was developed, capable of processing millions of data points to support high-level insight generation.
Human-in-the-Loop Machine Learning: The project successfully combined on-farm expertise with AI models, achieving high accuracy in identifying health-compromised pigs.
Economic Value Proposition: Results demonstrated a strong financial incentive for producers adopting welfare-focused digital systems.
Consumer Insights: Research revealed that while ethical motivations are important, credibility, personal benefit, and sustainability most strongly influence consumer purchasing decisions — offering valuable direction for future welfare communication strategies.
